CIQ Simulator Raspberry PI BLE Scan

I am using :
the nrf52840 dongle with CIQ Simulator ( the dongle is recognized and works well)
i run Thingy52 Sample, i put System.println on my code
i run raspberry PI and i try to scan it from the simulator.( the PI is easily detected and seen by using of nrf connnect)

Unfortunately i can not see the PI when i scan from the simulator ( Thingy52 sample)

Any help is greatly appreciated

With a pi, you have to run a BLE server on the device. In my case, I wrote one using nodejs. See this blog post, as it includes code for both CIQ and for the pi:

I read your excellent tutorial developed in NodeJs

I have to run a BLE server on the device ? which one the Pi or the simulator ?

I run a BLE python program (UART) from the PI and Thingy52 sample from the Simulator and i need to scan the PI from the SIM.

But unfortunately, i can see nothing.

The Raspberry Pi Node project is the stuff you need for the pi with the CIQ samples also posted. I've never looked at the UART stuff. (python is evil! )

Hello Jim
I use your CIQpi application to connect to a Raspberry PI and it works great but I take a long time to connect to the PI, unlike in Thingy52 where the connection to the PI is very fast. thanks for your help

Look for a variable called commDelay in the CIQ app, as I bult in some delays for the Pi Zero, if I recall.

I can scan, connect and get data from the pi in just a few seconds with other apps I wrote.

Another thing could be distance. If the pi is a ways away, it could take longer to scan/connect/get data.

Tha CommDelay Value is 2, i set it 0. Is there another parameter to modify in order to make the applicattion faster ?

Another thing, i get the hotname of the PI (as devicename) instead of the local_name, is this normal ?

I've not spent much time with the original app in a very long time, and have written a bunch since, so I don't recall. Understand the logic to get the best speed.

Scan, then connect, and once connected make sure to read a characteristic before turning on notify, as some things take a bit of time to notify.

Yes,seeing host name is normal. I have a couple apps that I have running on different pi system, and find I like it as I can see which I'm connected to
