Text input control like standard editing waypoint name on fenix 6?

Hi gurus,

I have implemented text picker for some of my old projects, it can work for simple list item selection (like select country).

Now I am thinking for an app where user should be able to enter manually some short text.

Is there some nice standard (Toybox) or open source implementation for some text input field what can look like very similar to standard editing of waypoint name or renaming activity on fenix 6 (I guess this type of control is not limited to fenix series strictly)?

dbrobert has open sourced a text picker that may be able to work for you. It is part of his code sample repository listed in the sticky open source thread. As a shortcut you can follow this link.

Thank you so much! I just opened this custom text picker source code, but from the first look it is perfect start for my project UI part. Also, big thank you to dbrobert for quality samples.

Correction: I was wrong, and previously I have used Picker (not TextPicker).

Since I have asked question, I have realised there is Class: Toybox::WatchUi::TextPicker, what can work for my task,

but I need to limit charset to some letters and numbers (not all of them can be valid chars for user input text).

Is it possible to limit Class: Toybox::WatchUi::TextPicker for some limited Character Set?

I used this as a base for a text picker project I needed. It worked very well, and may need a couple really small tweaks depending on the screen size you are working with and what characters you need as some of the special characters are used for the controls, if you happen to need those in your string.
