1 star reviews lead to trending apps

I know we all like to crap on the App Store (broken ratings, odd categories) but my new favorite is 1 star reviews that cause your app to trend. Poor Komoot.

wouldn’t it be a better experience for potential customers if only 5 star reviews trended?

I think it is based on the download rate not the reviews.

I'm pretty sure it's based on the number of recent reviews.

But it seems "trending" could be trending up or down, as the rating in the review isn't used.
