Align Numbers based on Decimal Point (See Picture)

I'm trying to load the LAT/LON onto a Widget and I would like to get the "decimal" to align.

Can this be done w/o slicing the Lat/Lon into Before Decimal/After Decimal and then using that to do the LEFT/RIGHT alignment?

Also - is there a "degree" symbol in the CIQ Fonts?

What you can do is use find() to find the decimal point and use the length of the string before that to determine an offset. (dc.getTextWidthInPixels())

Another option is if you always have 6 digits after…

yeah, you're right, the longitude can go up to -179.xxxxxx and latitude only to -89.xxxxxx so it wouldn't always align with left-justified using the normal range of values.

Another option is if you always have 6 digits after the decimal point, use Gfx.TEXT_JUSTIFY_RIGHT, but that only works for fixed space fonts.

Somehow this just eluded me.. I tried to justify Left and didn't try the right. Works..

For proportionally spaced fonts you could right justify a field up to the decimal point and left justify after it.

the (or a) degree symbol ° works on watches for me. Unfortunately it doesn't work for all watches in the sim, at least for me.

question on your original image, how can you be at a latitude that's greater than +/-90 degrees? Seems like the negative sign affected the positioning of the other digits and the decimal point, but -100 latitude doesn't seem possible to me to begin with, ignoring the data formatting issue.

5693709 hehe.. that was just an arbitrary number I manually put in to determine how it would look like within the app. Positioning / layout and that sort of things.

I suspect your original data formatting method was probably OK, you just gave it an out-of-range value with the -100 value, which moved the decimal point one place further to the right than would be expected with normal range data.

5693709 it wasn't because I was using align left instead of align right. Doing align right would Make it all OK as there is 6 digits after the decimal point.

when I align left, it didn't work out.
