Toybox::BluetoothLowEnergy Scanning Passive or Active

Does anyone know which mode the scan is in, and if passive is there anyway to change to active?

See BluetoothLowEnergy.setScanState() in the API doc. You can see how it's done in the NordicThingy52 examples in the SDK.

When an app first starts, scan state is off. You must turn it on my passing SCAN_STATE_SCANNING to that call.

I don't see anything in that doc that says if it is an active or passive scan. Am I missing something?

Not sure it's in the doc, but until you call BluetoothLowEnergy.setScanState() with SCAN_STATE_SCANNING, it's not scanning. It's easy to see with the NordicThingy52 sample, where there's a menu to turn scanning on/off. When it first starts, it's not scanning.

In this app, I turn on scanning when it first starts, and without that, it never will see anything:
