How to use Simulation Playback....with sample Activity Tracking app

Thanks, I get the first part of your response, I was able to use the Activity Monitor input to simulate Steps/Minute as see the data fields updating in the Activity Tracking sample app....happy with this progress :-) 

But still not clear on how to playback a FIT with this app, when I try, it doesn't affect the Step Count?

Also, not so clear on the second part of your response, I would like to see how I can load a FIT file and observe that data on the Simulator....I loaded the RecordSample app, and can see it offers a means to record an app (i guess writing a FIT file) but don't see how that app can allow me to load a FIT file?

I don't think that steps are usually recorded in .FIT file.

I mean... they _can_ be recorded... it just isn't a statistic that generally _is_ recorded. Things like speed, distance, cadence, location and heart rate are more likely. 

So it is highly possible that your .FIT file isn't updating step data because it has no basis on which to do that.

So I think, to test you'll either need to set the steps manually and see them change or side load it and work from there.

With the record sample, you play back a fit or use simulated data.  It really doesn't do much other than start recording it's own fit file once you press menu.  You can modify it so that it displays distance, or whatever, but shows the structure for recording..
