Install language file... asking for a friend!

Hi,

I have an upset Frenchman looking to change language on his FR235... Simple, says I... Device Settings- System - Language - Français...

But...

He only has “English” in the list! (He sent an exasperated screenshot! [Yes, in French, even screenshots have emotions.])

I googled... I see problems where Chinese was huge so crowded out other languages for some APAC... but there is _only_ English.

I also found references to adding by copying across a .LN2 file to /text directory... and that _might_ be available via Garmin Express... but I don’t want to frustrate the guy any more if it doesn’t work!

Can anyone shed any knowledge on this for me?

This is a question for Garmin Support. Have him ask his local support group.

BTW, that's the whole thing about APAC. They are English and one or more languages from those regions based on the specific device. And there are other differences in the FW..

Yes, but a French watch purchased in France by a French person from a French supplier should surely use a French APAC that includes French as one of its languages?

The exasperated screenshot quite clearly has only English. I have suggested customer support, in addition to a link I found on how to add languages using Garmin Express (which is Garmin documentation - but only available in English for bizarre reasons that are known only to people with too much time on their hands).
