Newcomer - Looking at Garmin for wearable - Digital Biomarker Masters Project - First Q's

Hi,

Throughout Masters Intelligent Systems course always been interested in healthcare, having developed fuzzy logic system that performed better than state of art neural nets to diagnose *** cancer, and analysis of cardio vascular disease datasets.

Really interested in studying using wearables to generate biomarkers to monitor individual health and run some form of AI/machine learning analysis and prediction.

New to Garmin products so don't understand the feature set, so apologies, as sure some of these questions would have already been asked. As follows:

1. Do Garmin wearable products allow me access to my own raw data as a private individual/developer - steps, heart rate etc, from my own device?

2. How is this data typically accessed? Via app, via cloud?

3. Is real, or near real-time data collection possible? What's the highest frequency of data collection? Every second? Every minute? Every 5 minutes?

4. Thinking out loud, would it be possible to push/pull from watch various stats, and push to a cloud-hosted, custom data ingestion service, so that analytics can be done on it. One or two lines about how I might best go about this would really help.

Thanks so very much for any guidance on whether this is possible?
