Hi there

(Sorry if this question has been asked/answered already)

I am a photographer and I want to GeoTag my pictures. There are many options/solutions to do so around I know.

I would typically start on my Venu watch a walking activity to record my way. After the foto trip at home I would like to get the data from the last activity containing the GPS data. As the Venu syncs automatically at home, I assume I could get the data I need from the cloud (Garmin Connect)!? All I need is a list (probably in JSON or XML) of GPS coodinated and the corresponding timestamps.

What API can I use to do so? Could you guide me in the right direction?

You can download the original FIT file, or a generated GPX or TCX file from your recorded activities by clicking the gear icon near the top-right in Garmin Connect (https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activities). There are software tools available that can take this data and merge it with your photos (assuming that the clock on your camera has the time set to something close to what was on your Garmin at the time).

The GeoTag tool is one that I've heard of being used before. I make no claims about its suitability, just that I've heard that it works. I believe it is a MacOS only tool, but there should be something similar for PC.

Thanks for the answer. Indeed this is working just fine. However I was hoping for a more automatic solution -> I.e. an API to access these files from within a program/batch (don't want to manually download files each time).
