Is it possible to push a layout with a progress bar instead of a String?

In order to learn MonkeyC, I thought making a watch face would be a nice way to start. My idea is to have the watch face text and content, along with a progress bar that shows how much of your goal you have accomplished. When reading about progress bars, I came across this in the documentation:

initialize(displayString, startValue)

where displayString is what the string that the progress bar surrounds, and that it has to be a string. I tried replacing it with my layout and failed. Anyway that that can be done?

Yes. dc.drawArc() use the center based on width/height, and the diameter to draw the arc.

You can use setPenWidth() to make the arc wider.

If you look at the doc, you'll see

        progressBar = new WatchUi.ProgressBar(
            "Processing...",
            null
        );
but right after that, you'll see it push a view for the progress bar, with a delegate. Not something you can do in a WF.
You can draw one using drawRectangle, and fill it as needed using fillRectangle, with the width to fill based on percent

let's say the with you use is 80 pixels, and your at 70% of a goal, your bar would be 80*.70 pixels
so
dc.drawRectangle(x-1,y-1,80+2, height+2);
//change color if desired
dc.fillRectangle(x,y,80*.70,height);

Is there a simple way to drawArc around the edges of the screen (round watch) by getting the system's screen dimensions?

I tried to do this:

dc.drawArc((dc.getWidth()/2), (dc.getHeight()/2), (dc.getHeight()/2), "ARC_CLOCKWISE", 90, 120);

But it doesn't work

I got it to work! I assumed attr was a string but it was a Graphics property instead:

dc.drawArc((dc.getWidth()/2), (dc.getHeight()/2), (dc.getHeight()/2), Graphics.ARC_CLOCKWISE, 90, 180);
