Heart rate zones in downloaded data fields

Hiya, I'm new to connect iq (have just got a fenix 3 after having a FR220 and FR210 before that).

I have my heart rate zones set in garmin connect and my fenix 3 is synced with those and if i use one of the default heart rate data fields in the run app it uses those.

A lot of the data fields available in garmin connect boast being customisable in relation to heart rate zones. Just to be clear, am i right in thinking that none of these will use the heart rate zones i have set in garmin connect? they'll either use whatever the developer set the zones to or i have to manually configure my heart rate zones again within each of the downloaded data fields?? Why would anyone want to do that?

Cheers
  • That's the current state of things with the SDK access with regards to GC profile items. not all things are available for use.

If you don't want to, then don't use it.

Nobody wants to do that, and no developer wants their user to have to do it either. As mentioned above, the necessary data isn't available to ConnectIQ yet, so this is the best solution that developers could come up with.

If you have a better idea, I'm sure a lot of guys would be happy to hear it.

    Good idea. I won't.

But now that I know it's a limitation with the environment rather than specific choices devs have made I can stop looking for something that can't exist. Ta.
