It sounds like you're using a training plan or a workout target with a zone (normally a target heart rate zone). This should display on top of the normal data pages for a few seconds when you enter the target zone, but it should vanish after that.
If you're using the native activity apps (Run, Ride, ...) and not using a ConnectIQ data field, this is probably the wrong place to be asking this question. There are forums dedicated to each device family... you may have better luck finding an answer there. Just click Outdoor Recreation or Sports & Fitness above, find your device, and ask the question there.
