I agree... but how to test applications ? (Simulator is not real life :-) ) I hope Garmin will do something about that for 2016...
Garmin is working on something to support developers in this regard. But I cannot comment on the time frame.
Best would be to follow some guidelines and best practices in order to cater for incorrect values being set for user settings.
A few known ones are:
Some Garmin Connect mobile apps send strings to the watch instead of integers.
Older versions of Garmin Express (<4.1.11.0) sent the index number of the list as the value instead of the actual list item value to the watch.
You just have to make sure you cater for these cases to prevent your app from misbehaving.
What is it that you are trying to test? Maybe we can give some guidelines or advice?
