Venu - watch face delay

Have recently bought a Venu, I like it but there is one big bear I have... the length of time it takes to display the watch face for any face downloaded from CIQ.. The preinstalled faces are fine and display the face immediately when using the button or gestures. The faces loaded on from CIQ can take up to 4 seconds to appear, even the ones that Garmin have designed.

I know this is Garmin's first amoled screen watch but surely it can do better than this! Customer support are adamant it is a hardware limitation.

Any thoughts?

If you've only tried complex watch faces, maybe try this one. There's a bunch that can be going on in a complex one:

I still get quite a delay on simple faces as well, it happens regardless of the number of complications shown on the face. Even Garmin's hexagon face has a delay.

My wife has the same compliant and I have to agree. The delay from almost all the watchfaces is unacceptable. The only way to see the time reasonably quickly is to put the watch display in "Always On" mode and select a watch face with that implemented.

I have found the same, I'm using "data lover" at the moment which has a small aod clock to save power, when gesture or button activated the full face activates within a second as opposed to 4.

I have exactly the same experience. Hope Garmin will fix this with an update soon

Anyone still struggling with this? I'm bound to the stock faces as the delay is insane.

I'm having the same issue. Downloaded and customised some nice watch faces but can't use them as they either take too long to appear, don't appear at all or I have twist my wrist like a madman and actually almost strained it as I was getting annoyed at the watch. Have reverted back to a simple steps, time and date which seems to work well.

On Venu I have been using watchfaces that have implemented "always on" and have watch settings :
Mode "Always On" and Gesture Sensitivity "High"
hard to measure but full face displays in <1 second. If for some reason the gesture does not trigger I can at least see the time in the Low power mode.
