SQL Database SQLite

Hi,

i saw a .db file and what seems to be part of SQLite format 3, in my watch.

Is there any way to use SQL statement, to create and manage SQL DB on Garmin watches??

Would be so nice !

Probably used by the FW or maybe in connection to Garmin Express or GCM.

that means it should be possible to add it in CIQ... ?

One day, maybe... no more storage pb, faster, etc..

I doubt it. The native watch functions have nothing to do CIQ capabilities.

that's why i wrote it would be great to add SQL capabilities in CIQ,

Since the watch seems to be able to work with SQL.

The existence of a single file with a .db extension doesn't really mean that there's a SQL engine of the device.

The (slow) speed of .file system access on a CIQ device is why any kind of file io is very limited.

I agree, Jim.

CustomMaps.db, in Garmin/SQL directory could be read/write just by GCM (it would just be some GCM stored data...on the watch).

i'll try to open it in a db soft.
