Toybox::BluetoothLowEnergy - does it support bonding with SMP/encryption?

Hello, i wonder if Garmin's BLE module supports bonding with Security Manager Protocol (initial key exchange during pairing, and further BLE frame encryption)? I'm considering writing Connect IQ app to control certain BLE peripherial which requires encrypted connection.

I've just watched the presentation, and indeed CIQ does not support persistent bonding/encryption at this time. Maybe someone from Garmin would be able to comment if there are plans to implement these functions in future? I'm interested in Fenix 6X at this moment.

My gut feel is that it won't. I think it's mentioned in the session that the BLE is pretty much what could be done due to memory, other things on the devices with BLE, etc. For example, there's a limit to 3 ble profiles per app (if you try to register a 4th, you get an exception) and that's because other things on the devices use BLE and resources are limited, and you can't query the other side for characteristics, and must have what you need defined in the profile.
