Method to share settings/properties between apps

We have a case where we would very much like to share information between two Connect IQ apps. It that something you have considered?

In this specific case, we would like to have an application to configure the advanced settings of a data field. This way we can provide a more integrated feel of the complete application, as it will otherwise require the user to configure the data fields via a web/mobile application... Which will both be more expensive for us to develop and maintain, and it will be a bit counter-intuitive for this application.

yes something like https://kvdb.io/ or https://github.com/jgarzik/kvapp would work, just use PUT to save data and GET to retrieve it. But as you said, far from ideal if you just want to share data on the same device

What does "user" mean? Am I, the developer of the 2 CIQ apps a user, or each of my end-users who use the CIQ apps need to sign-up every 120 days?

Every person is considered a user (so that means developers and end consumers of CIQ apps). Each installation of a CIQ app using the service has a user id that is registered to allow access to the communication service. A user can have multiple devices, and multiple apps, all using the same user ID and all able to theoretically communicate with each other (if the apps are programmed to do so). Access can be renewed every 120 days (for now). We can add recurring subscription or longer terms easily if there is enough interest.
