Something wrong with the Vivoactive 3, 4 and Venu?

Hi guys

Sorry if I missed some post about it in the forum, but I'm receiving a lot of mails about crashes on my apps on the Vivoactive 3 and 4, which didn't happen before and which I can't reproduce on the sim.

Then I saw similar reports on the reviews of this widget BY GARMIN:

So I guess it's a generalized issue and Garmin must be aware of it.

Is the cause of this problem known? And solutions?

There's a bug were apps can be downloaded to devices that aren't running the min required firmware that can cause this. Garmin is aware of the issue.

In the mean time, I've been asking users to make sure they are running the latest FW when they report this.

It seems to be affecting other devices too. I got a report from a Fenix 6X Pro user. So it's probably a general issue with the store than with specific models, right?

I have the same issue,

For the 6 séries for exemple,

Lot of user dont have the last update, either not available in their country or do't want to update due to bugs (lot of bugs...) on 6 séries.

So id you export your work with Sdk 3.1.4 everything will be fine, but no support for some devices.

Im waiting for this too.

Are these app crashes or system crashes causing a watch restart?

I am getting sporadic reports of new users VA 3s system crashing on my app load. Running FW 660.

Same issue? If not, how do I handle?

The app crashes. With the great iq logo.

On the ERA it is rez. Watch etc, like when they first déployed the 3.1 q

The only solution I ve found so far is to code with Sdk 3.1.4,with this no issue anymore, but I cant export them for New device like swim, rey, marq commander etc.

it are app crashes on devices that haven't downloaded the latest firmware, normally the app store should prevent downloads of incompatible apps but that does not seem to happen.

If users have the latest firmware on their device there's no issue.

As a temporary workaround (until the check for correct firmware is present in the app store) I'm shipping my more popular apps compiled with the 3.1.3 SDK (which of course does mean you can't support the newer devices)

In my case the watches are crashing to the Garmin logo (not the IQ!), So it sounds like a different issue.

I am recommending a re-install and report back. No responses yet.
