Howto Start and change to activity view from App?

Hi folks,

I am currently writing an App for a timer in order to sync to the race start (https://github.com/oe8bck/StartTimer) At the end of the count-down I would like to switch automatically to an Activity View (e.g. swimming). Of course the Activity has to be started also, it would even be best if it can be started before the view is changed.

Is there a way to handle this?

Yes. Every app is completely sandboxed and has no access to other apps or their data. With this and the lack of any system-provided functionality to start another app (even the native ones), this is not something that you'll be able to do.

Yes - you'd have to create an app that has the timer, and when the timer expires, it would start recording a .fit file and display data, until you stop the recording. It's actually not that hard to a basic one (see the RecordSample in the SDK) "Activity Info" will let you get data while recording, so you can display it.
