Looking for respiration rate in docs and api but see no mention of it. How does the Garmin respiration widget run on the new A4 and Venu? The api must be there, can anyone shed light on this subject?

The native widget does not run in ConnectIQ. That feature is not available to third party apps. No idea yet if or when that support will be made available to ConnectIQ.
Good to hear, I did not realize Garmin''s widget's are native and not using the ConnectIQ api. I would think support would be available for respiration and other new health measurements in the near future.
Has anyone ever heard of a new measurement not being available in the api or how long it might take?
There are a number of pieces of data available to native apps, widgets and watch faces that aren't available in CIQ. I could easily list 20. And I'm not sure I can recall the last time one of them was added to CIQ
Good to know, maybe my first post should of been: "Pretty please Garmin, can you add support for Respiration and OX to the CIQ."
Like you pointed out PulseOX has been available in at least one watch for a year now, still no timeline on when/if it will be supported in CIQ.
I can think of things that were requested years ago, like recovery time.
It has been my past experience to see companies with fully featured api's that promote extensive 3rd party developer adaption that leads to tremendous product sales for the company. The best example of this is Microsoft. Maybe Garmin will get more on board with this approach and we can bring on thousands of CIQ developer's instead of hundreds that leads to magnitudes more Garmin devices being sold.
