Hi,
I am using a contactless card for our public transportation system. How can I store the data to my FR 945 watch? Would be great to use less cards.
Can not find more infos on https://developer.garmin.com/connect-iq/api-docs/ :/
Thanks

There's no way to access NFC from Connect IQ.
Your best bet might be to see if the card can be included with Garmin Pay
Do you know if they open the NFC API for own wallets and/or is there a Garmin Pay Developer documentation out there? I think there should be a infographic about the (hopefully easy) implementation process.
I doubt there are any available docs on the internals of garmin pay, and even if there were, it's not anything you can do with Connect IQ.
Contact the provider of your card and see if they want have it available with Garmin Pay.
Hello, was there any update on the subject? I have the same question for the greek public transports.
Nothing has changed. There is no way to use NFC with Connect IQ.
That is very unfortunate, I wonder why Garmin does not support it, since it would be very convenient.
Although, @jim_m_58 thank you for your answer.
Even with the standard FW, the only thing that uses NFC is Garmin Pay, and that requires approval by the card issuer. I expect there could be security concerns.
I haven't thought/searched about it but I see your point.
On the other hand using watch in the public transport is something very common, something should be done..
Any update on this after all these years?
even if it would, it‘s not possible to simply copy an rfid tag. Otherwise one could simply clone those access cards.
Simplified:
The watch would need to issue a virtual tag and this tag must be allowed to access.
if someone adds such a card to apple wallet, its not the card added to the wallet but a new „card“ which is created and added to the „user“.
so garmin would need to open their API and then all vendors need to write a implementstion to support garmin
