Setting sport_event for fit file in an app

As the title says, I would like to be able to control the sport_event that a wearable saves to the fit file after recording a session.

With sport_event I mean the the enum that is shown in the Profile.xlsx file from the fit sdk.

By default a watch just writes "uncategorized" to this field but there are other values possible like geocaching for example.

Does someone know whther this is possible? It was not quite clear for me after reading the documentation...

You set the sport and sub sport when you create the session in CIQ. Or do you mean changing a .fit created by something else? You can do that after the activity is synced to Garmin Connect.

I think he's referring to sport_event, which is:

uncategorized, geocaching, fitness, recreation, race, etc.

In Garmin Connect, it's referred to as "Event Type". And I don't think CIQ lets you set it, at least not according to the documentation.
