Pitch & Roll - Correct usage? & How to use in datafield?

Testing out accelerometer on an app in the Edge 820. I would expect pitch to be in line with normal definitions (https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitch,_yaw,_and_roll) "nose up or tail up." in line with the device direction, but it seems it's the opposite to normal convention and that conventional device pitch is coming through the AccelerometerData.roll property. Is that correct? and is that to line up with how it's used on the watches?
On an edge I just want to create a datafield rather than an app. So is there a way to get accelerometer/pitch/roll data when in a datafield?

on #1,, I guess that doesn't surprise me, and should be the same on watches.

For #2, as it's a part of Sensor, you can only use that in the background process of a data field, with the normal conditions that the background can run at most every 5 minutes, and for no more than 30 seconds at a time.

thanks jim_m_58 I think that answers my datafield Q, it's a shame we can't create a more in depth datafield or screen on edge devices. I wonder if there's any plans for a new 'screen' type to be added to edge

On 1 I guess one of the garmin guys might know the basis for that ( Coleman.Apps ? ) On an edge device the direction of 'forward' is obvious but on a watch I can see how on a watch somebody might want to use the direction of the arm as forward
