Empty stack trace in CIQ_LOG.YML

When I look in the CIQ_LOG.YML on my device, the stack section is empty. I created a debug build with the Build for Device Wizard and side-loaded my widget to my device (Edge 1030).

I think the second line says why. It crashed in the callback code (the VM). Maybe send this to garmin along with info on what you have in the request to get the image and the image itself, and maybe even the project itself.

Yes, @jim_m_58 is right. The crash is happening inside our VM code, and the best thing that you can do to help get it fixed is to provide source code for a test case that reliably reproduces the problem.

Hi jim_m_58 and Travis, Thanks for the replies. I can reproduce this easily on my Edge 1030. In the VM, this issue does not occur.

The error occurs directly after the MakeImageRequest I make. If I provide this information, including a log file, does this also help you to investigate this issue?

Yes. Ideally you would provide an app that reproduces the problem. It *may* be enough to just send us the URL of the image you're requesting, but a test case would definitely be better.

I'd update to the 3.0.11 SDK, just so it's the latest version.

For the "Out of memory" crash, do you happen to have the background permission set, but don't have a background process with that annotation? This has been seen with other apps. There's an "onAppInstall" and "onAppUpdate" that can run at start up and runs in the background, and what seems to happen in when those occur, it tries to load the entire app in the memory available for a background process, and results in an Out of Memory. If you don't have a background process, don't set the background permission.

For the other crash, if you can create a simple sample app that demonstrate that, send that project to the ConnectIQ fols, and if not, zip up your project and send that. Something so they can reproduce the problem

Thanks for the reply. The "out of memory" was indeed solved by removing the permission for the background process. Thanks for that. I have written a simple test project, which I am intended to send to Garmin.

Hi Travis, I have made a test project to reproduce the problem on a Edge 1030 device. I have tested this with both SDK 3.0.9 and 3.0.11. Both have the same problem. Sometimes, I believe it could be an issue with my device, but not sure how to debug this.

I submitted a bug report on the background permission and the Out of Memory, as it's come up a few times in the last week or two.
