Compiler Bug? "Variable x is used before being initialized in all code paths"

I consider the code a bug, but I also think it could have been written in a way that is less weird. i.e.,

if (info.currentLocation != null) {
var x = info.currentLocation.toDegrees()[0];
var y = x + 1;
return y;
}

return 0;


... or...

if (info.currentLocation == null) {
return 0;
}

var x = info.currentLocation.toDegrees()[0];
var y = x + 1;
return y;


Of course you could eliminate the other temporaries, or just simplify it entirely to a single expression (if you like dense code)...

return info.currentLocation == null ? 0 : info.currentLocation.toDegrees()[0] + 1;


I agree the above code could be simplified, but this was an artificial example I constructed to demonstrate the bug.

I've reported this, because I agree that it's a compiler bug. Thanks for getting it reported to us!
