Status indicators on watch face

I have been trying to delve into making a few watch faces, and have started getting the hang of things (in short: level of experience = low/med). Hopefully can contribute something soon :)

I've been referencing the API docs and samples, and have found most of what I've been looking for either there or here. Question is, I noticed it seems to be possible to add an alarm status indicator to a face. I've found the bluetooth (phoneConnection), battery, sleep, but can't seem to find any reference to whether the clock alarm is set (on/off).

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

TIA Cheers!
  • Currently the alarm status is not exposed in Connect IQ, but it's on our list to add.

Thanks for the quick reply, Kyle!

So is there no way at all to do this right now? Only curious, since I've seen a couple other faces with this - so if there was a workaround. Or if by "not exposed", you mean not documented but possible...?

Sorry, I could totally be wrong about the "other faces". I may have seen it conceptually I'm guessing (aside from Garmin non-CIQ stock faces).
  • Understand that in the app store you often see an image from the simulator, and when laying things out, some people have have provided a location for an alarm icon. Or could it be that you see an icon that might be alarm, but it's really "vibration on" or "tones on"?

There's no way to actually get the alarm status in CIQ today.

Understood! I likely have just been seeing 'placeholders' for future versions (and possibly tone/vib). Thanks again! Had to try ;)
