Rounding down

Another noob question - I want to display elapsed distance as kms completed - kind of like a fixed 1km auto-lap

If I use numofkms.format("%0.0f") it displays correctly with no decimals but does rounding so after 2.5kms it already shows 3.

How do I modify to always round down so that 2.75 still shows 2 until I get to 3.

Can I just use int(numofkms)?

It depends on how you are creating your numofkms variable. But I think it's a pretty safe bet to say, don't do anything to it, and it will probably be an int that always rounds down.

Why not use "numofkms.format("%d")"? Use "d" instead of "f" in the format, and you'll get the int with no rounding.

I have similar problem but I have it with activityInfo.distance. If I need the kilometers rather than centimeters I tried to make this:

ActDist = ActivityInfo.distance;
ActDistKm = ActDist / 100000

and then I use .format(%.02f)

It shows me 1.00km, 3.00km and so on but I don't know how to show something like 3,21km. :(

try
ActDistKm = ActDist / 100000.0;

math with integers will always result in an integer

if that doesn't work then

ActDistKm = ActDist / 100000.toFloat();

Oh my... It is easy. I tried to use .toFloat() but it returned me for example 3.000000 km. When I used ActDist / 100000.0; it works. Thanks Sharkbait

ActivityInfo.distance is in meters. If you want kilometers, you must divide by 1000.0 (not 100000).
