Merge accounts, Connect Iq Store different login as Connect app

Hi, I'm writing to see if you can help me. I currently have two Garmin accounts: one as an athlete where I record all my activities, and another as a developer that I use to test my developments. Previously, on Android with dual apps, there was no problem; I could have both accounts separately. However, on iOS, this isn't possible. If I launch the Connect app with my activity account, I can't launch the Garmin Connect IQ Store app with my developer account. Could you tell me how to do this? Would it work if I changed the email address on my activity account to my developer account? Is there any way to merge accounts without losing years of activity data, medals, scores, etc.? Thanks in advance.

  • I don't use iOS, but I do switch between accounts in my android phone, because some of my kids don't have their own phone to sync their watch. This is not as user friendly as being able to log in with 2 different accounts at the same time (which I didn't even know was possible in android, so I'll thank you if you post some more details how to do it) but do you really need to be logged in from the Connect IQ app?

    I would try the following:

    1. if you use beta apps to test while developing, then delete them from the current developer app, and create them (you might need to recreate the manifest id) under your athlete account. This will make it easy to upgrade the apps multiple times a day without changing account.

    2. continue to upload the production app to the existing developer account. You do that anyway from the desktop website from the computer, right? The only disadvantage is that if you use the same account in Connect IQ, then you'd (maybe?) be able to upgrade to the just uploaded version even before it's scanned and approved for everyone else, but recently I've seen much less delay, so in most cases you wouldn't even notice a 1 minute delay (and your athlete account will be able to see the new changes less than a minute after you saved them in your developer account)

  • Hi, thank you so much for your quick reply. I didn't know you could upload apps from a non-developer account, so I'll definitely do it that way; it's the easiest. Regarding your question, Android does allow dual apps, at least on Xiaomi devices. You just need to enable dual apps, and you can log in to each app separately and independently.

  • I think you'll still need to create a developer account with the same credentials as your athlete account, but it's free and should only take a moment.

  • Hi, solved, Just as you told me. Thanks again.
