What is the logic behind "Hot & Fresh Apps" section?

The "Hot & Fresh Apps" section doesn't look like it is really up to date.

For this section I would expect daily changes at least, and more showcasing the latest apps developed.

But to me it looks like it is very static and older apps are consistently in there.

What is the logic behind the sorting of this section?

If I recall, this section was for apps less than 4 months old they were ordered in the same way as other categories. so apps at the top tended to stay near the top, so there weren't lots of changes.

How do you mean? I see apps that are way older than 4 months.

They have higher rankings. downloads, etc.

I'd expect the Top / amazing sections would be more suited for that.

But for a newer developer the chances of getting on there are pretty slim?
