You're probably aware of this, but despite Garmin's confusing branding, Garmin Pay as in contactless payments and Garmin Pay for the Connect IQ store are completely different things. Yes, this is despite the fact that the Garmin Pay marketing page continues to conflate the two things by devoting 99% of its content to contactless payments, then adding a blurb at the bottom saying that you can use "Garmin Pay" in the Connect IQ store. The difference is relevant because contactless payments are fairly limited with regards to which banks are supported (especially outside of the USA), but Garmin Pay for the CIQ store can be used with pretty much any credit card afaik.

Insisting on using the same name for 2 different things caused a ton of confusion amongst users and bloggers (one of whom posted a misguided article about how to get around "Garmin Pay" restrictions when buying apps in the CIQ store, by using a prepaid credit card or something, when the restrictions in question only apply to contactless payments and not CIQ store payments.)

So it's my educated guess that lack of Garmin Pay contactless payments on Edge devices has nothing to do with why they're not supported for monetization.
