Since sailing is a technical sport, I see many opportunities for Garmin.
To my opinion, many sailors (I am one..) want to analyse and improve their sailing, especially when racing.

The basic functionality as currently in the Quatix (Fenix 1 platform) is more than sufficient to start with. Virtual start-lines for pre-race optimization, and lay-lines for perfect tack-moments can't be that difficult to measure?
Owning a Fenix 3, however makes it difficult to understand why this functionality is not released in relation to Connect IQ.

Another huge opportunity is to link the Fenix 3 to existing marine networks containing Garmin GPS map and chart plotters.
Most sailing boats have NMEA networks on board, and many information is already shared via this (open) protocol.
How nice would it be to monitor data like speed, depth, wind angle, etc. on your wrist computer?
The wishlist is endless, and could contain information like drift, Speed over water, velocity made good, etc.etc.

Wouldn't it be good for the Connect IQ guys to discuss this with the Garmin Marine guys?
