Lots of us probably have more than one Garmin Device, personally I do a lot of road / mountain bike riding and I'm almost always using both an Edge 510 and wearing my Fenix at the same time.
I find myself pondering if there isn't some smart way to have the two play nicely together (possibly with a companion app). Perhaps in a 'second screen' type scenario.
Example:
Riding along, Edge recording stuff, HRM connected to Edge over Ant+
HRM rate and Zone being displayed on the Fenix
Another Example (that I think is really cool, if simple): I'd love to be riding along, having my edge displaying realtime data like HR, Cadence, Speed etc but have the fenix displaying the route I've taken, or perhaps even route guidance etc.
The edge is already capable of sending periodic data to the Connect+ app (like the ride tracking feature) which I think is using traditional bluetooth rather than BLE. I wonder if a few small changes could make more data available for 'companion' devices like the Fenix.
I think there could be some really interesting opportunities to create really innovative setups and add a lot of value to the ecosystem, I hope our resident Garmin devs see this and we could at least discuss some of the possibilities?
