It would be great if someone could create an app/widget that can send GPS location through your phone to EMS and or friends/family if you are in trouble or lost.

If you can work your watch you can _probably_ work your phone.
Though it may be unreachable in your backpack or something if you're really hurt I guess...
If you are in a situation where you need an emergency beacon then the best thing to have is an emergency beacon designed for that purpose. Cell phone coverage is never guaranteed and I would not want to back my life on it.
However, the 920 already has the ability to do what you want - Live Tracking.
As important might be a display on your watch of your contact info (like "Road ID") But something like that would mean there would be a very quick way to "fire up" something based on certain conditions. And a Beacon app app would also need to fire up GPS to give your location
