At a gym, there are hundreds of different weight lifting machines like tricep extension, bicep curl, chest press, calf extension, hip abduction, torso rotation etc etc\
A user has to walk up to the machine and select the appropriate amount of weight for each kind of machine. Once the machine is set up, the user must do a certain number of repetitions. It is difficult to remember what weight to select for each kind of machine for the first few months of exercising--it takes a while to memorize the work out. It is difficult to remember the number of repetitions as well. It is very difficult to use a phone to read these settings. Glancing at a watch face would make things much easier. Swiping the watch face after completing use of one machine but before setting up the next machine makes things easier.
So it would would be nice to have an app which puts on the screen: BICEP CURL, 35 LBS, 10 REPS. Then the user does the BICEP CURL exercise. Then the user swipes the watch face. The watch face says CHEST PRESS, 100LBS, 15 REPS, The user does the CHEST PRESS exercise but does 20 REPS. He updates the REPS to 20. (The next time the user sees "CHEST PRESS it will say 20 REPS) Then he swipes the watch face for the setup and activity of the next piece of equipment. After the last piece of equipment is used, a swipe should return the user to the beginning of the list.
At some point though, the user comes to a brand new piece of equipment he has never tried, so the user must be able to add a piece of equipment in between exercises. Of course, the user must first enter the data that will be shown on the screen. The user should enter the name of the equipment, weight setting, and reps. It must be possible to enter this data on the screen so that the user can do it immediately and not rely on his memory.
Keeping the history or adding it to Garmin Connect is good but not required in the initial release.
