I often use my InReach Explorer SE+ but usually leave it in the top pocket of my backpack, It would be really useful if there was a Fenix app to be able to see link status and read messages and possibly send the pre-configured messages. I think SOS activation could be prone to false triggers but it could be an option.
I see there is an ANT based Fenix 5 app for the InReach Mini but I don't want to have to drop hundreds of dollars to replace a perfectly functional Fenix 3:-) Does anybody know if there is a fundamental issue that makes this impossible or is it just lack of demand. To be honest I would have expected Garmin to develop this in house given they own both products and they must be making good money from InReach subscriptions.
I am not even sure if if the Explorer SE+ has ANT so it may need to be via BlueTooth.
