Emergency contact and medical information display

I'm looking for an app that automatically displays your contact and medical information during a run if you stop for a certain preset period of time, or until you acknowledge an alert or something. That way, if you are hurt or injured during a run, the info will automatically be on your watch screen. Is there anything available like this?
  • Go to Connect IQ and do a search on "Emergency." You should see several.
  • I think most are widgets, and would need to be manually run, and not automatic. When running a native app, maybe a CIQ data field could be used, but with only 2 available on most devices (per activity) might not be that popular.
  • Yeah, you're right. I assume the OP is looking for something that fits the ICE Standard with your health information on the lock screen of your smartphone for the EMT or whoever finds you. I like the idea, as I have now gone to running phoneless more often than not.
  • The simplest solution is getting something like a RoadID (they even have some made to fit garmin bands). That way it's still available if the watch/phone gets damaged.

This is a feature that a "all in one" full screen data field could implement. It would work as expected as long as the page didn't inadvertently get changed.
  • Yeah, I was looking for something that ran automatically. I found the Emergency app, but don't know if most EMT's would know how to access the information on your watch if they found you unresponsive. I have a Road ID, but don't always remember to wear it. It would be nice if it was built in to the watch.

I have something "similar" but not the same as this in this app https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/ad65c289-aac9-49e8-8532-638f85596bbc

Currently at the END of the workout, when user presses STOP, it will show a Summary Page. This can be reworked into an Emergency Contact Page as well w/ inputs you put thru the Garmin Connect Mobile app.

However, given that the assumption currently is that the user suffers something catastrophic and can't physically press the stop button, then this screen won't come out. If the user instinctively presses the stop button, then all is good. if not, then something else, some other assumption needs to be made.

    Still thinking...

using the "predefined number of minutes" is not the solution as a datafield cannot interact via buttons. Most likely I'll make assumptions say "user still in same position for the last 100meters or distance hasn't moved in the last 30 seconds or 60seconds then automatically change to this screen.

  • Popping this back to the top.  Would be great to have this be a watch face instead of an app!

  • There is a data field called 367RunFields which has option of a “rest timer”. This rest timer comes out when the watch detects a pause in movement (using the watch as a cadence sensor) and if you’re not moving for x secs then it will start counting down.

The idea behind this is to track rest times at various checkpoints and ensure that you do not stay too long “resting”

this is could be reworked to show emergency info tho. Would that work?
