Hello everybody... Nice looking Watchfaces so far, but I am supposed that some business like watchfaces like Hugo Boss or Armani would be nice looking;)
Not to leave anyone out--these are just a couple that come to mind. :)
While we're on the subject, there are a few related thoughts I'd like to share about the app submission process:
I want to avoid censoring the hard work of developers. We'll approve watch faces that don't have a direct link to an existing watch (e.g. looks identical to a watch manufacturer's watch or contains logos/trademarked elements). I would prefer to take this approach than to discriminate every single watch face submission for possible infringement issues. An example of one that would be rejected out of hand is something like a Mickey Mouse watch. But in most cases, something like ethtota's LG Smartwatch inspired face, which pays homage to but is not identical to the LG Smartwatch, will gladly be approved. If someone then contacts Garmin and claims copyright or trademark infringement, the app will need to be removed from the store. That doesn't mean the situation cannot be remedied.
To illustrate, we recently had a triathlon-themed face approved to the store that contained the 'm-dot' Ironman logo. We were contacted by someone presumably representing Ironman, who pointed us to the trademark information on the logo. I temporarily removed the app from the store, contacted the developer to explain the situation, and they decided to re-publish their app without the logo. Now the app is up and available again after a relatively painless process.
