Heart Rate Alarm "ALWAYS" running (in the background) to check my bpm under 40

I am a developer in different languages but I'm new developming something for my Fenix 5, I would like to create a monitor to check my heart rate ALWAYS, not only during an activity.

I usually have rates under 40 bpm so I would like to develop a kind of widget or something to check my pulse rate always (when my watch is turned on, not as a application to activate or desactivate).

I will appreciate if someone who has more experience coding garmin gadgets could give me an idea if this is possible or not or if someone is trying to do something similar or if already is done by some developer.

Thank you in advance
  • It's actually kind of common in watchfaces. They can use 1hz and show the HR. 1hz HR isn't available on the f5x,Descent,DC Charlie due to HW differences.

Here's one of mine that does it for example:
    Simple Heart

There's no alarm possible in a WF (other than showing something on the display). With a widget you could have a background process, that asks to reopen the widget when something happens, but there, it can check at most every 5 minutes, and there's the question of restarting the widget the user must acknowledge.

I was really sad when I was reading this:

Anyway... then I'm going to use an application, you avoid me to be there in front of my computer trying to do that for a long time. I'm checking the link right now. Thank you so much.
  • 1hz HR with watchfaces isn't available on the f5x. But you can get the HR in other things the same way as with other watches.
