[REQUEST] Watch face...

One more request from me, I think it should be simple, combines a few elements...looking for a clean implementation.

1) Top, half circle, stretching from 9:00 to 3:00 on the dial, the activity/move progress bar, thinking half the thickness of the current one to allow for the other elements, color change as completion progresses.
2) Bottom, partial circle, stretching from 5:00 to 7:00 or so on the dial, battery status, similar bar and coloring to activity/move bar
3) Simple watchface emulating current digital type...
A) Bold hour, standard minutes (no seconds)
B) Below that...date (24 MAR) and sunrise/sunset time.

Thanks...
  • Hi MR3SKA : Can you share how you did the semicircle thing?
For the life of me, i can't figure out how to create

    1) the semi-circle
    2) how to update it such that it will do a division of the steps and then increment it from it. (e.g.: 5000 steps = x radian)

any chance of you publishing the source code?

    many thanks.
  • geoffspakes: try this

nikeow: I tried it through drawing a round graph, similarly as travis.vitek but it looked so big for drawing the percentage from goal around the display. So now I drawed the polygons for movebar only. When you don't move, fenix3 will draw you colored movebar polygons. When you will move, the polygon will be red all around.

Just loaded it up and it looks great, thanks a ton! Unfortunately I'm already over 100% of my steps today so it's all red across, can't wait to see it in full action tomorrow. Question...why is it fully red when 100% has been met instead of green? When do the other colors in the segmented bar (green, yellow, orange, red) come into play?

Is the red horizontal bar just cosmetic or is that the move bar?
  • Oh, I think you understand it wrong. Main watchface is in combination of red and white (red graphic, white text - same as the analog one). It is the same all the time. It doesn't depends on accomplished percentage from goal. Only when you don't move, the red color around the display (upper 2/3) was changed by the colored parts. It is like move bar.
When you dont move for more than 60 minutes, it shows the first one (green) and after every 15 minutes there will be added next colored part.
  • Just saw that my watchface that I showed earlier was published. It is called "Steps on Face"

    Here it is - https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/dc88e0eb-da2e-49b0-a320-e22808e87137

Yea, I did misunderstand some...looks spectacular and presents great information. Would you take some feedback for some changes or an alternate version? I have no idea how difficult it is to code or change these things.
  • I'll be happy for some feedback. I'm thinking about one design which will show the fields for "% from goal" around the display. I tested the rounded graph (as i wrote in one of previous posts to nikeow) but it looked too hardware demanding for the fenix3 device. In the simulator it runs OK, but in the device, it crashed few times. I'm not the programmer primarily (it's my hobby :) ). It could be my fault, only. I'm going to test it further.

Awesome dude, appreciate you letting me give feedback and suggestions. What I'm really after is the face to have graphical "at a glance" information on it as well as the time and date...no extraneous text information. So, with that said, your face is almost there for me...I love the overall appearance and feel of it.

    1) For the top I'd like that current bar to reflect the percent to goal, inverse the colors...from left to right: red, orange, yellow, green. Each represents 25% of the way to the daily goal. Love the current location and thickness of this bar.
    2) Bottom part of circle to have a similar arc for the move bar...single color just fine.
    3) Simple time and date as you have already.
    4) For battery level, no text or percentage, prefer the graphical presentation...the dots on this face are great: https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/2e20cdd8-9a50-4819-9218-54e3b65160b2

    Is that doable? Reasonable?

    1) It will be easy to change the color of the red polygon on upper 2/3 in attach of progress-bar percentage (now it isn't possible to change the thickness of it)
    2) It could be, I hope...
    3) .....
    4) I think it would be possible to make something like the colored dots. I'll think how to integrate similar graphics
  • Hi geoffspakes,

I made one update in the watchface now. I will prepare the new battery indicator for next version. I am testing few types of graphics for battery indicator.
