Strava Live segments

Is it possible to create app for Garmin 820/1000 which grab data via mobile (Bluetooth) and then showing real time "live segments" from Strava (for those users which are not premium) ?

It seems it should be possible to write a full-blown application to do it, but that means you won't be able to use the built-in run/ride applications while using it. It might also be possible to use backgrounding to download the data and access it from a data field that runs in the native apps.

i haven't actually tested, but the strava docs say the data is available to all users... http://strava.github.io/api/#access

If this is just a way to avoid paying for strava premium... you could use garmin segments io strava segments... works just as good...

I preffer strava segments, I had Strava premium but this was only option which I really missed from normal user account in comparison with premium.
