Do the devs think it'll be possible to have golf as an app? Is connect iq flexible enough?
This would make the fenix 3 an awesome watch...
  • Agreed. Garmin made put the app inside the Vivoactive, no reason why they couldnt do the same for the F3.
  • golf app

+1 This would be great for the F3

suunto app has one too - this app needs to happen soon! I would even be willing to pay a small download fee for some of the courses that they already have mapped out for the approach line.

I would love to have Approach S5 functionality on the fenix 3. I'd certainly pay for an app if it is more than a dumb score counter.

Even though I would love a somewhat sophisticated app that shows layups and distance to the pin, and tracks the score and uploads to the connect website...

I would still be happy for the moment if we could have a simple stroke per hole counter. I think this could be derived very quickly from the Tennis score counter that is already available.

gamrin, can we have that quickly, please, to shorten the waiting time for a more sophisticated Golf app?

Garmin, would you consider to share the source code of the Tennis Counter App? This would be a great starting point for a golf score counter. I'd be interested to have a look.

I would love this!!!! Basic stats - putts, GIR, FW and scores will work!

I've completed a first Scorecard app, and will try to upload it soon, in the next couple of days or so.

It currently is just a strokes per hole counter, and measures the total duration and walked distance in the background. It also produces a FIT file and uploads the activity (distance, positions, duration, but no golf specifc data) to the Connect website. I am in a final field testing process. Stay tuned.
  • if Garmin did that for the F3, then the S6 would not sell :p

I forgot to announce in this thread that my simple score keeping app is in the IQ store. It is far away from the Garmin Approach series functionality but possibly good enough for many of us. It also keeps track of putts per hole, and measures the distance of the last shot.
