Request: Weight Training

I think it would be absolutely grand if someone could make a simple app that started with a 4 set counter (1/4, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4). Every time a set was counted a 45 second interval would start for a rest period. After four sets were completed, a 2 minute interval would start followed by a restart of the set counter to 1/4.
  • Is there some reason not to use the built-in interval training function? You can easily setup a workout that does exactly this.
  • That said, I can easily throw this together, with user specified rep counts and timeouts.

I tried doing this with the built in interval timer, but the 2 minute break between exercises was a problem. Since i didn't know exactly when i finished, i couldn't time that 2 minute rest between different weight training exercises. The option for user specified counts and timeouts would be great. If you could help, that would be fantastic. What i'm looking for is this

4 Set counter(hit lap to acknowledge set completion)
    45 second timer between sets

2 minute timer after 4 sets have been completed

repeat as you move on to each exercise

    Thanks in advance!
  • I'm assuming the problem is that you created the workout on the watch. It only allows creation of very simple interval workouts. You can build more complex ones from this page, and then upload them to your device.

I used the portal and tried different variations of the interval configuration and it works for the most part. It would be nice to know which set i'm on, but I don't think that is possible through the workout trainer. Thanks for your help getting the intervals setup.
  • It looks like the VivoActive doesn't support programmed workouts, so this is still a useful app to create. I'm going to take a shot at writing something that is completely user configurable (similar to the workouts page on GC) but hopefully with more useful features. I'll let you know if something comes up.

Great, thanks and good luck! I'm using Felix 3, so keep those round watch faces in mind if you get around to creating something :-)

    Hi Travis,

do you have any update on this topic?

    Thanks,
    Mirko
  • No, I'm afraid not. I've moved on to other things. I do believe that there are a few apps in the store that do timers. Perhaps one of them would meet your needs?

Travis.Vitek, I made a workout on this post but it will not allow me to upload it to my Vivoactive. I created a workout that is 30 seconds followed by a 15 second rest, a 1 minute workout then another 15 second rest, repeated 12 times for a total of 24 minutes. I would like it to vibrate at 30, 15, 60, 15 so I don't have to continue to look at my watch to find out when my workout/rest period is over.

    Could you provide any insight?

    Thanks!
