Sailing-App for Fenix 3 with BlueChart-Connection

Hi,
I would appreciate to have a Sailing-App for the Fenix 3. It would be great to have an App which shows the Position in Degrees and Minutes like N 54°34'84 E 8°45'455, the speed in knots and the distance in nautical mile. Although these App should have an anchor alarm and a man over bord function. A Tide Table would be great.
A great feature would also be the possibility to interact with the Garmin GPS Map Plotter to get some more infos like the wind speed or depth over ground.
Additionally these functions could be tracked to the BlueChart-App.

Unfortunately I've heard nothing new about some sailing functions from garmin site. Maybe Brandon.ConnectIQ has some good news for us ? ;)

Hi I started to work on yet very simple sailing racing widget. Set position of start line (1 point), start 5 minutes timer and widget will predict to slow down or move faster to come to start line at the end of timer. It is my first app. If anyone is interested in it I can put source code on github.

Yeah that would be great Tomcosk. I think it would be great if you also can pre-program your GPS starting time. And of course at the end of the countdown the timer begins.

Brandon.ConnectIQ / Garmin please include nautical possibility!

Unfortunately not. I'm a little bit afraid that in a few weeks a new Garmin Quatix "Bravo" is published, instead of putting the software in Connect IQ as an app available.

I think that would be a bad call on their part. having released Connect IQ then launching a watch that doesn't support it ? just seems a little silly.

For any Garmin employees who may read this thread, just to be crystal clear, we DO NOT want a separate watch which we'll need to buy yet another piece of identical expensive hardware. You created ConnectIQ so that functionality can be extended, so release an app, paid for or otherwise. The D2 Bravo has annoyed a lot of Fenix 3 owners, and a Quatix 2 will do likewise unless the app is also available for the Fenix 3.

Not opposed to a Quatix 2 which comes with the app, but given the identical hardware just release the app across the board.
