Bluetooth A2DP AVRCP or equivalent

What I would REALLY REALLY like on a fenix 5X is for the Bluetooth to support A2DP/AVRCP or solve it another way with a companion app

By this I mean so that you can connect your iPhone to it and browse/select your music/artist/tracks etc or more importantly to me Podcasts and Audiobooks in exactly the same way as you do in a modern car

I hope this idea has serious traction:)

Thanks in advance
  • Nudge nudge

Just to add this link so you get an idea of the sort of commands that are possible

A Fenix 5x with this capability to list/control all your music/podcasts/audiobooks would knock an apple watch into the middle of last week :)

Please please someone pick this up ..... there is NO ONE out there doing it at the moment on a smartwatch and it's just waiting for someone to be first and have an edge :)

Another way around it is to have the Garmin IOS app read the library on the phone and then transmit those listings to the watch if that was easier

    Thanks in advance !

The latest batch of "Plus" devices goes a long way towards this goal but being able to control the audio on an iPhone in the same way you can in any modern Volkswagen and most other cars would really make it complete

I would like to be able to leave my phone in my backpack but still be able to control everything as stated above on the watch via bluetooth AVRCP without having to load individual things onto the watch itself.

It also gets over the Audible DRM/format problems as these play fine in the car

REALLY hope the fenix 6 will have this feature ....

  • This style of music control would also be a cool addition to the handheld devices e.g. the 66s etc
