Was wondering if there is a developer that can recreate a data field?

I recently found out that the developer of one of my favorite data fields passed away. I recently upgraded from a 530 to a 540 and the field is not available for the 540. Was wondering if there is a developer that can recreate?

It probably did more, but I only need something simple.

In a single field, it rotated the ascent, descent and difference. The settings that i cared about were how often it changed, and what fields it actually displayed.

Personally, I only used it in a 1/2 wide field, and rotated the ascent and difference every 3 or 4 seconds.

If i knew how to do it. I would.

The simplest might be contacting the author of the original app, and asking them to recompile the app for Edge 540 too.

Hey, I have a flexible Connect IQ data field app [kinda like Excel for your watch] which can hopefully recreate this behaviour (to some extent).

Use the following settings:

- Label: ASCENT / DIFF

[or whatever you want]

- Formula:

if (timer mod 4 * 2 lt 4, totalascent, totalascent - totaldescent)

- Display Format: Auto

This formula will rotate the field value between total ascent and total ascent minus total descent every 4 seconds. If you want to change the time period, change both instances of "4" to something else.

Note that the app doesn't calculate ascent or descent itself, it only uses the values provided by the watch itself (which should be the same as the values displayed by the corresponding built-in data fields.)

Only problem is the label can't change dynamically since it's a "simple" CIQ data field, which means that the label is fixed after the app starts up. The value (determined by the formula) could incorporate letters, but then the font would be too small.

- Big fonts are only available for numbers and a few other characters like "+" and "-"

- Due to the fact that it's a simple CIQ data field, the entire field value is just one font, which is determined by the watch itself (not the app), based on the content
