[REQUEST] apps for Crossfit

I was curious if one of you could develop what i think would be a couple pretty basic apps that would make the F3 a useful tool for Crossfit.

1) An AMRAP Timer. (Basically a countdown timer with a lap counter) AMRAP = As Many Rounds As Possible
So for example, the user would want to do a workout where he/she does as many rounds as possible in 10 minutes. The app would need to be able to set a 10 minute timer. While the timer is counting down from 10 minutes, the user would press a button as he/she completed rounds. The watch would then set off an alarm at the end of the 10 minutes and display the amount of rounds completed.

A couple of thoughts....
- the length of the timer would need to be something the user could set...10 minutes, 15 minutes, etc.
- the alarm at the end of the countdown should use as many alerts as possible, audio, vibrate, flash screen, etc. but also be user selectable as to which ones to use.
- during the activity, you should be able to see the countdown timer and the number of rounds completed.
- would you be able to add a 10 second countdown before the timer starts. for example...once you press start on a 10 minute workout...the watch counts down 10 seconds to give you time to set up for the start. it would also be helpful to get a short audio alert on 3...2...1...and then a longer alert for GO.

2) An AMRAP Counter. (Basically a stopwatch with a lap counter)
This would function exactly like the above timer except that instead of a countdown timer, the clock would just keep running. When the user hits the stop button, He/she would want to see how many rounds were completed and the time it took to complete them.

Thank you for your help. please feel free to PM me if you have any questions. And on behalf of all the Crossfitters out there...THANK YOU!!!!!!
  • Yes, I could do this pretty easily. I'm currently looking at revising the AMRAP counter and timer apps, so I could take a shot at this then.

out of curiosity, what are you going to change in them?
  • Make them less ugly. Allow some more configuration... That kind of thing.

    AMRAP Timer

    Hi
Just wondering how you change the countdown time in the AMRAP Timer?
Mine seems to be stuck on 1 min countdown timer.

Thank you. Is there a reason why I have to hold the start button in for the 5sec prepare for the timer to start working? Once it starts with the actual AMRAP timer I can let the start button go and it works but if I try to push the start button just once at the start the timer won't start.
  • You should only need to press the Enter button to start the timer; no button holding necessary. I don't have these apps installed on any of my devices right now, but when I get home from work I'll take a few minutes to try and reproduce. What device are you using, and what firmware version?

I've got a Fenix 3 Saphire, running software version 3.60.
The app was working fine when I first installed it but then just started not starting unless you hold the button in for the countdown. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but does the same thing still.
Also the same thing is happening with the AMRAP Counter as well.
Love the Apps though, good work.
  • I haven't changed these apps since very early on. I just tested on my fr920xt and I don't have to hold the enter/start key to start the countdown. Nobody else seems to have this problem, and I'm not sure how to fix it.
