[REQUEST] apps for Crossfit

I was curious if one of you could develop what i think would be a couple pretty basic apps that would make the F3 a useful tool for Crossfit.

1) An AMRAP Timer. (Basically a countdown timer with a lap counter) AMRAP = As Many Rounds As Possible
So for example, the user would want to do a workout where he/she does as many rounds as possible in 10 minutes. The app would need to be able to set a 10 minute timer. While the timer is counting down from 10 minutes, the user would press a button as he/she completed rounds. The watch would then set off an alarm at the end of the 10 minutes and display the amount of rounds completed.

A couple of thoughts....
- the length of the timer would need to be something the user could set...10 minutes, 15 minutes, etc.
- the alarm at the end of the countdown should use as many alerts as possible, audio, vibrate, flash screen, etc. but also be user selectable as to which ones to use.
- during the activity, you should be able to see the countdown timer and the number of rounds completed.
- would you be able to add a 10 second countdown before the timer starts. for example...once you press start on a 10 minute workout...the watch counts down 10 seconds to give you time to set up for the start. it would also be helpful to get a short audio alert on 3...2...1...and then a longer alert for GO.

2) An AMRAP Counter. (Basically a stopwatch with a lap counter)
This would function exactly like the above timer except that instead of a countdown timer, the clock would just keep running. When the user hits the stop button, He/she would want to see how many rounds were completed and the time it took to complete them.

Thank you for your help. please feel free to PM me if you have any questions. And on behalf of all the Crossfitters out there...THANK YOU!!!!!!

That's ok I'll just use it as is. Thanks
  • I was able to get Brandon.ConnectIQ to test this for me and he was able to reproduce on a fenix3. I'll be working to resolve the issue when I get some free time.

    Same thing

I haven't changed these apps since very early on. I just tested on my fr920xt and I don't have to hold the enter/start key to start the countdown. Nobody else seems to have this problem, and I'm not sure how to fix it.

App is just what I was looking for, but having to hold down the start button seemed strange. Glad you are working on it. Perfect would be to hit start and have 5 seconds to prepare.

    F3 sapphire running 4.40

    Hi,

I am new user of Garmin fenix 3 with AMRAP Counter and I can't find option to save training after finish... Is there any possibility to save your training and then watch it on your computer / phone? Am I doing sth wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong. This app is just a timer for people like me who don't want to worry about keeping count during a WOD. It does not record your activity.

OK thx a lot for fast response,

maybe You or someone knows another application which allows to save your workout?
I'm interested in HR during training, is something else to monitor it?
Generally, I have a problem with other activity than native apps loaded with Fenix ("crossfit", bodybuilding, mma ... )

    AMRAP Timer with data capture?

Love the AMRAP timer! I did an AMRAP this morning and wanted to track HR data and round time (laps). I wasn't sure how to do this within AMRAP timer. I ended up using a custom crossfit activity I made and used the stopwatch instead of a countdown timer. I was able to capture all the data I wanted, but it would have been great to do all of that in the context of a countdown timer with alerts at the end. Sorry if this is already possible in the app. I've had my fenix 3 for a couple of days and I'm still learning. Cheers and thanks again for your hard work.
