[Request] a Soccer Referee App

I currently use Refsix on my apple watch. I used to use it on my Garmin, but it seems to crash after nearly every single game. Requiring an uninstall of Refsix to recover. Since I referee multiple games a day this is very inconvenient. Their support appears to be non existent as I've put in a bug/support ticket weeks ago and the most I've gotten is a request for which match this occurred.

The features I was hoping for are:
1. Set countdown timer of my choosing(count up would be a bonus)
2. Record goals scored including player number that scored as well as time.
3. Record Yellow and Red cards issued, and by what player and including time issued. (If yellow or Red given to a player already with a card, a warning would be a bonus)
4. Match Summary accessible during and especially after match showing goals and cards issued, what time and by what player
5. This is an absolute bonus, record the whole thing as an activity, perhaps soccer match played?

I know there are several other Referee apps out there, but the only one I have found that includes card issues is Refsix and I just can't trust it.
I would be willing to pay a one time price to use this app.

  • Unfortunately, I don’t know of any other referee app for Garmin that records cautions and all other match events.

A quick fix I can highly recommend: the app What’s the Score, Pro? for Apple Watch. You might be able to find a used Apple Watch SE for a reasonable price somewhere.

The app truly leaves nothing to be desired. Referees can use it to record all cautions, sendings-off, temporary dismissals, goals, and substitutions.

It also offers full fitness tracking, movement analysis, and weather data.

  • I am a developer and interested in your project.  I have some free time and have recently developed a couple Garmin watch apps for personal use that I share on Connect IQ store.  I do it for fun for free.  I have no experience as a soccer ref, but had a very quick look at the Refsix app which looks quite comprehensive.  I have a few questions, mainly about match specific data integration with external apps.  I would also want to use your experience to scope the project in more detail to be fairly sure everything required is achievable and works intuitively.

If you are interested, then please leave some contact info.

  • Just the timers and the goals and card trackers with a match summary would be enough. Saving it to a external app seems like a lot but would be nice. Maybe some way to save it as a spreadsheet or document or something would be simpler, but isn't completely necessary for me.

  • Wow! This is very good. Thank you.
Most of my games are not 45 minutes halves. Is there a way to change the half length?
Also, it might be easier if possible, for player numbers to have a little numberpad to type in the player number instead of scrolling through a list.
Thank you so much for this, it is already good enough to use!

  • You haven't mention which device you have, but I've seen multiple referee apps in the store

  • Strangely, the all the replies including those by OP 5064831 only just appeared for me today, one month after apparently being posted - this really is one of the funniest/weird forums I have seen.

I did however get these comments/requests from direct communication and updated the app accordingly - thanks.

Any other suggestions for improvements - try 'Contact Developer' - probably more reliable than here.

  • You should be grateful the OP doesn't have to wait another month before reading your reply. I'm kidding (sort of).

, do you visit these forums once a month? Could you do this at least once a week? Given that it's nearly impossible to post anything longer than a few lines before being blocked by Cloudflare, we post scraps of messages with the hope to be able to edit them later, and after dozens of editing attempts, we finally post what we originally wanted. Waiting months between attempts is nonsense.

, aren't you a moderator? Don't you see the so-called "moderation queue"? I can't imagine you posting regularly on the forum but completely ignoring this queue for a month.

  • Yeah, but I mostly do clean ups, when someone is spamming. Once I'll get my first paycheck from Garmin I'll also do the unblocking and do it more often ;)

  • Understood. At least there's more than one person, who can theoretically approve/reject posts.
