Hello Garmin Community,
I’m excited to share an app concept designed for Garmin devices called "GoodHabit". This app aims to support users in building positive habits and decreasing, or even eliminating, harmful ones. Through tailored reminders and habit-tracking features, "GoodHabit" is a daily companion to encourage consistency and progress.
Key Features:
-
Personalized Habit Setup:
- Users can set up specific positive habits, defining their name, target time, duration, and snooze intervals for each. The app also allows users to log any habits they'd like to reduce or eliminate, which it will help monitor over time.
- All preferences are saved, and the app creates reminders to assist in staying consistent.
-
Automated Habit Reminders & Tracking:
- For each positive habit, the app sends a reminder at the user’s preferred time. Users receive options to start the activity immediately or snooze it if they’re busy. Once started, a countdown timer tracks the activity.
- If users miss an activity, a gentle five-minute cycle reminder kicks in until it’s marked complete, encouraging consistency without overwhelming reminders.
-
Progress Monitoring for Bad Habits:
- Users can manually log each instance of a habit they’re trying to reduce. The app records the date and time, providing insights on their frequency over time.
- A dedicated view shows the time elapsed since the last occurrence and a weekly chart to visualize progress, making it easier to stay motivated.
-
Background Operation:
- GoodHabit runs smoothly in the background, sending notifications and updating progress logs without interrupting other activities.
This app offers a simple but powerful approach to forming and tracking habits, fostering positive changes while leveraging the support of Garmin’s ecosystem. Let me know your thoughts—feedback would be invaluable as I move forward with this concept!
