Depends on the watch you own. The majority of the current models indeed do support the measuring of the respiration rate during activities, no Connect IQ app is needed for that. However, you need an HRM-Tri, HRM-Run, HRM-Pro, HRM-Pro Plus, or HRM-Dual strap for activities involving movement (practically all except of Breathwork and Yoga), since the optical sensor of the watch alone cannot measure the HRV accurately enough when you move.
